What Makes a Scottish Straight Special
Scottish Straights come from the Scottish breed family that began in 1961 with Susie, a folded-ear farm cat in Scotland. In every Scottish litter, some kittens develop folded ears and some keep straight ones. The straight-eared kittens are Scottish Straights.
They keep everything people love about the Scottish look: a round head, full cheeks, large round eyes, and a gentle, people-oriented nature. Because the breed was built with British Shorthairs, many Scottish Straights look a lot like British cats.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Scottish Straight kitten?
A Scottish Straight comes from the same Scottish breed family as the Scottish Fold, but its ears stay upright instead of folding. It shares the round face, round eyes, and sturdy, cuddly look of the breed.
Is a Scottish Straight different from a Scottish Fold?
The main difference is the ears: folded in a Fold, upright in a Straight. Folds and Straights are often born in the same litter. Because the fold comes from a dominant gene, straight-eared Scottish cats generally do not carry it.
How much does a Scottish Straight kitten cost in Miami?
In South Florida listings we reviewed in October 2026, Scottish Straight kittens with show potential were listed at about $2,350 to $2,550, and household-pet Scottish Straights at about $1,000 to $1,700. Message us for the current price of our kittens.
