Look at the whole cat. Ragdolls always have a pointed pattern and blue eyes, with a large, long body. British Longhairs have a round face with full cheeks, a compact body and come in many colors; most have copper, gold or green eyes.
Both are fluffy. A British Longhair's coat is denser and plusher with a thick undercoat; a Ragdoll's coat is silkier and lies flatter.
Not registered ones. We raise Scottish Fold and Scottish Straight kittens at home in Miami from our family cat Sonya, and some are long-haired and very fluffy. They come without registration papers.
